Maine? What happened? I am going to tell you right now EXACTLY what happened.

Last night, the state of Maine, in the U.S, shot down gay marriage. There is simple reason: Lack of unification in the LGBTQ community. From all of the work, research and personal experience we have had and done, it has been made clear that the community is too scattered to make its voice heard. There are plenty of regional LGBTQ sites, news sites, dating sites and other areas of the internet that we frequent, but none that can bring us all together. THIS is precisely why we formed MPower. To EMPOWER the community by bringing us together. The best chance at success from advocacy is by bringing all voices that fall under the banner together so that we can be heard. MPower is  not just another website. It is a HOME for the LGBTQ community, that is free, comprehensive and offers everything we could need while building our collective voice. www.mpower-now.com
MPower-Now.com  "For the REST of your life"

Now take a STAND and tell your friends! We have two choices.

1. Be reactive and complain when things dont work out.
2. Be proactive and MAKE SURE things work out.

I vote 2.
We will MPOWER the community one member at a time.

It is a mystery to me why it is ok to come together at rallies, functions and on occassion, to vote, but everyone stays at arms length the rest of the time. If we are going to pretend to be a community or collective group, we need to share a common goal. But I think we have the right idea here, (and so does CHAPEL HILL with the first GAY MAYOR!!!!)

KK,
I could not agree more. Enough of the ongoing complaining and passive resistance from a community who refuses to acknowledge that there is strength in NUMBERS. If we don't come together and unite as a community, the erosion will continue on the progress we have been able to make on the backs of those who took a proactive stand on the issues and agendas of our community. Mpower is giving us a platform to do just that. If these WHINY ASSES don't get off the bench and into the game, they are really gonna have something to bitch about. Any one reading this, if you don't stop running in the streets and acting like a bunch of stereotypical dumb-asses,trying to show how GAY you are. Frankly, are embarrasing the rest of us that are trying to secure a better life for future generations of ALL the people of the LGBTQ ( yes T and Q ) community. If the L and G would take a leadership role, and stop bickering amongst themselves. I promise B,Tand even Q will follow. So, get off your asses and tell your friends and anybody else you know to get on the site, join up, make a contribution for change. OR QUIT YOUR BITCHIN', that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
